Empowerment

Providing education and support to children of sex workers for a better future. Libaas Welfare Foundation is a ray of hope for the enslaved sex workers in Kolkata’s largest red-light district. The organization provides sex workers with basic education and job-related training to develop skills that will help them build a better life and become part of mainstream society. The organization fights for the legal rights of sex workers in India and aims to end forced sex work. In that regard, we provide education on human rights of sex workers and even financial and legal assistance to the hundreds of women trapped in the trade.

Healthcare Initiatives

Ensuring access to healthcare for the vulnerable and needy. Poor access to healthcare is one of the most pressing challenges faced by the vulnerable and marginal sections of society. Through our medical intervention program, we ensure that our beneficiaries and all those in need have access to affordable healthcare and receive timely treatment. These interventions are carried out in collaboration with our network of healthcare partners: hospitals, primary clinics, laboratories and pharmacies. Whenever a medical case is brought to our attention, we first conduct a background check and investigate the patient's socioeconomic status. After considerable research on relevant government schemes and other sources of financial assistance, we guide the patient and his/her family and help them seek affordable and quality healthcare
